The goal of all Counseling is change:

1.     Change began the moment we were saved or you will be saved (if not save yet). (Eph. 2:10; Titus 3:5;  II Cor. 5:17)

2.     Change continues to the extent the Word of God takes control in the life. Ja 1:21-22, Jhn 8:31-32,Psa. 1:3 , Josh. 1:8.

3.     Change is a process that takes place in the life over time.

  • The things we must put off.  Eph. 4:22; Col. 3:8

  • The things we must put on. Eph. 4:24; Col. 3:10-14

  • By the mind, we change things in life. Eph. 4:23; Rom. 12:2

  • Thinking and behavior must change and if these are changed then attitudes and emotions will change.

  • Often the past programming of habits and patterns of life must also be recognized, faced, and dealt with.

A Biblical Theology of Persecution and Discipleship - An introduction to Glenn Penner's In the Shadow of the Cross: A Biblical Theology of Persecution and Discipleship, providing an overview of the Bible's teaching on persecution and how the teaching that God’s purposes of reconciling the world to Himself will be accomplished in a context of suffering and sacrifice, in shame and in weakness is far more prevalent in Scripture than many of us realize.
